Grow In Faith To Serve...Christ
Mid-Week Lenten Program
Date: 3/5/2014 - 4/9/2014
Time: 7:15 PM -
Wednesday Lenten Services
Lent is the period of the liturgical year from Ash Wednesday leading up to Easter. The traditional purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer - through prayer, fasting, serving and self-denial. During Lent, we will gather as a church for mid-week Lenten soup suppers, followed by a worship service. Every Wednesday night, March 5 (Ash Wednesday) through April 9, we will gather for fellowship and food at 6:15 pm, and then worship together at 7:15 pm. Please note that you do not have to come for dinner to attend the service. At the Ash Wednesday service (March 5th), there will be the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion. Starting with the March 12th service, we will focus on the video/bible study series called Death and Resurrection of the Messiah led by Ray Vander Laan, founder of That the World May Know Ministries. In this study, Vander Laan illuminates the historical, geographical, and cultural context of Scriptures. Each session was filmed on location in the Middle East.
Soup Suppers – 6:15 pm in Overholt Hall
Worship Services – follows the supper at 7:15 pm in the Sanctuary
This is a wonderful opportunity for worship and fellowship...
Come, join us as we prepare our hearts for Easter and the Resurrection!
