The Peach Festival has something for everyone! Early risers can treat their palates to a pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.
A flea market extravaganza follows, accompanied by a host of wonderful church-sponsored activities and fun for the kids and grownups. Home-made baked goods, plants, used books, and incredible white elephant bargains will be on sale during the day.
The wonderful music of the Sounding Brass, and Anemos will accompany the festivities. Sounds of Faith will sing amongst the trees.
Inside the church, beginning at 10:00, peach platters are available – cake, ice cream, and peaches. Outside, there are hamburgers, hot dogs, and sodas available from Boy Scout Troop 6.
Best of all, it’s a great time to share the experience with others in the church and the community and to support mission projects. Proceeds will support DUMC 2012 Youth Mission Trips and will build a cabin on the Adventure Site at Pocono Plateau.
We need your help!
Country Cupboard
Dorcas Circle reminds you that the Country Cupboard will be looking for homemade canned goods, jams, and jellies come September. Now’s the time to get canning and think baking!
White Elephant / Plants
Keep these tables in mind this summer as you clean out your attic and garage or divide overgrown areas of your garden. If you have plants to contribute, call the church for a contact number. Bring your treasures for the White Elephant sale to Overholt Hall after August 1.
Used Books
If you have any books in need of another home, deliver them to the music room after August 1. Any questions, call Paula Young (215-794-8602).
Volunteers
If you are interested in participating and want to work in a specific area or simply want to know more about the Peach Festival, the mission project we’re planning to support, or how you can help, please call Jack Young (794-8602) or Karen Lyon (215-340-7503). We need volunteers for books, plants, hospitality, traffic control, peach platter preparation, and the white elephant tables.
